About Our Farm
How a small experiment on a single rooftop became the city's most innovative urban mushroom farm.
Our Mission
We believe the future of food is closer than you think — right above your head. Our mission is to transform underutilized urban rooftops into productive, sustainable farms that bring the freshest possible produce to city dwellers.
Founded in 2019 by urban agriculture enthusiast Maya Torres and mycologist Dr. James Whitfield, monoplaycurrnt.com started with a simple question: What if we could grow world-class mushrooms right in the heart of the city?
Today, we operate eight rooftop farms across the city, growing 12+ varieties of gourmet mushrooms. Every pound we produce is harvested within hours of delivery, ensuring unmatched freshness. Our substrate is made from recycled coffee grounds collected from local cafés, closing the loop on urban waste.
What We Stand For
Sustainability First
Every decision we make — from substrate sourcing to packaging — prioritizes environmental impact. We're not just reducing harm; we're actively regenerating.
Urban Innovation
We see cities as ecosystems full of opportunity. By farming vertically on rooftops, we produce food where people live — eliminating food miles entirely.
Community Connection
We're more than a farm. Through workshops, tours, and our market, we build connections between people and their food.
Science-Driven Quality
Our team includes mycologists and food scientists who optimize growing conditions for flavor, nutrition, and consistency.
